In Season 9 of 90 Day Fiancé, Mohamed Abdelhamed, 25, threatens to divorce his fiancée, Yvette 'Yve' Arellano, 48, if she does not complete his Green Card application. In a heated disagreement, Mohamed threatens to locate a new Green Card sponsor if the wedding is postponed any longer, before threatening to return to Egypt.
Yve want a perfect wedding.
Earlier in the season, Yve informs Mohamed that the wedding must be postponed for a few more weeks owing to the location falling through. Mohamed, upset, warns her that this means postponing his Green Card acceptance, which will drag down the entire process of seeing his family.
Yve and Mohamed go wedding venue shopping in the July 10 episode of 90 Day Fiancé. Yve has waited her entire life to marry her prince charming, and she wants a magical wedding to match.
Meanwhile, Mohamed seems unconcerned about a large wedding. He is advocating for a courtroom wedding or, better yet, a religious ceremony in a mosque. "I don't want to go to the courts," Yve said. "That's not unusual to me," she says. "I'd want to have a wedding." "This is things I don't care about," he says.
Mohamed has threatened to leave Yve in search of a new Green Card sponsor.
With 44 days left on their 90-day K-1 visa, Mohamed sends Yve some messages about speeding up the immigration process. He writes: “So I think if you are so busy to do your paperwork for me maybe we can find another sponsor because this time is from my life!!” "I need to be allowed to work and live a regular life in this nation," the second note says.
"It'll be two months since I landed in the United States," Mohamed tells the cameras. And I'm sick of waiting for my documents to be completed. I don't think Yve understands how I'm feeling about my current predicament. I can't function on my own any more. [sic]“
Yve enters the room and asks Mohamed, "Babe, why are you sending me this?" You're suggesting that if I don't finish the paperwork, you'll have to find another sponsor or something?" "You can't do that, darling," she says. I'm the organizer. Your petitioner is me. You can't just come here and get another sponsor. We have to be married first before we can send in the papers."
As fans of 90 Day Fiancé are aware, a foreigner on a K-1 visa is not permitted to leave the United States during the 90-day period. Mohamed must wait for his Green Card to be issued before travelling to Egypt to see his family.
Mohamed expresses a desire to return to Egypt.
After Mohamed threatens to find a new Green Card sponsor, Yve begins to doubt her fiancé's motives. She tells the cameras she feels "replaceable" in Mohamed's eyes. "It's quite painful," she says. He's making me doubt myself."
"So I suppose, Yve, this sponsor thing," Mohamed says as he enters Yve's bedroom. I'm only attempting to assist in this scenario." "You don't know the immigration laws," he continues. The individual who is accountable has nothing to do with the sponsor." A tearful Yve informs him that he is incorrect about the immigration procedure and that his communications have made her feel horrible.
"Look, Yve, I have plans and objectives," Mohamed says to his fiancée. "I had aspirations of a grandiose wedding," she says. "That's your dream," he says. I have another set of dreams. If I am not allowed to work in this nation, I will return to Egypt."
"Then go," a sobbing Yve says. "All okay," he says quietly. Please get my ticket." Yve informs Mohamed that their relationship would end if he departs. "I don't care," he says. That is entirely your choice."
