Naked and Afraid XL: Frozen: Discovery Channel Reveals Launch Date for New Survival Series

The franchise of Naked and Afraid is growing. Naked and Afraid XL: Frozen will be released later this month, after Shark Week concludes on Discovery Channel. This new survival series will feature 12 previous winners who will travel to the freezing Rocky Mountains and attempt to survive for 14 days.
In a press release, Discovery Channel revealed more information about the new survival series.
"While SHARK WEEK brings warmer weather, longer days, and the promise of a peaceful summer vacation for many, a select handful who have decided to take the road less traveled are in for a more... frightening adventure." A new nude chapter, NAKED AND AFRAID XL: SHARK WEEK 34, will be released in conjunction with the impending 34th commemoration of SHARK WEEK. FROZEN debuts on Discovery on Sunday, July 31 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Sub-freezing temperatures, hypothermia, and frostbite are just a few of the immediate dangers in the frigid Rocky Mountains as 12 of Naked and Afraid's most popular and experienced All-Stars take on 14 punishing days and nights in the frozen ice-covered wilderness. These best survivalists have faced the bug-infested Amazon, Africa's blistering heat, and Southeast Asia's deadly snakes.
To take the next step toward becoming franchise legends, they must overcome the most difficult challenges yet. Will they make it to the next level and withstand the winter challenge, or will they be iced out?
These top survivalists will be put through their paces in one of the most grueling environments ever attempted: Montana's windy and snow-covered Rocky Mountains. Their survival will necessitate knowledge, teamwork, and mental toughness that will be possessed only by the most accomplished and memorable Naked and Afraid survivalists.
The survivalists will enter the challenge in four separate teams of three, with no shoes, clothes, food, or water - only primitive tools and the bare minimum raw materials required to survive in the frozen tundra.
While these survivalists are no strangers to the hazards of survival, this location raises the stakes. Survivalists must struggle with some of North America's most lethal animals, including mountain lions, wolves, and grizzly bears waking from hibernation, to locate little food in this freezing environment.
