90 Day Fiance : Before the 90 Days : For the first time, Ben Rathburn and Kimberly come face to face.
On the April 3 edition of Before the 90 Days, the group gathers in New York City for a tell-all session with the audience. Kimberly and Benjamin meet for the first time in the first episode of the season 5 finale, which is a massive tell-all.
While their initial encounter began with pleasantries and compliments, things rapidly became tense. Kimberly, 51, talks about her relationship with her younger partner, Usman 'Sojaboy' Umar, 32, in the dressing room after the performance. She and her co-stars Benjamin, Mike Berkowitz, and Elle Johnson discuss what they received the most negative feedback for during the season.
Kimberly shared her thoughts, saying, "For me, there's a lot of judgment for me going over there and listening to my heart." Which is absurd to me since, you know, that's exactly what I should have done all along."
90 Day Fiance : Before the 90 Days : Ben Rathburn expresses his thoughts on the connection between Kimberly and Usman.
"From what I observed, you seemed to be coming on rather strong," he remarks. Kimberly justified her conduct by stating, "I pursued what I want. I'm going to stereotype now, so I'm going to be in trouble," Benjamin says backstage at the tell-all. "I'm going to stereotype now, so I'm going to get in trouble."
"We, as guys, are the predators," he goes on to say. We are lions looking for gazelles. And you’re kind of hoping that it’s a bit of a race. You don't want to simply lie down, you know. It’s like, ‘Well, that wasn’t fun.’” Ben Rathburn says, “So if a gazelle ever attacked me, I wouldn’t know what to do. I mean, to me, it’s just a turn-off.” He tells Kimberly, “But if Usman likes that sort of thing, all the power to him, but he seemed like he didn’t.”
Kimberly reacts to Benjamin’s idea of dating
Ben Rathburn is immediately dragged away by production for an interview. While he’s gone, Kimberly tells her castmates, “I’m sorry, guys. I lost my respect for him when he called me a predator. I did not like that.”
She defends herself, “Everybody is only seeing a part of me, you know what I’m saying? And I don’t feel like I was a predator. I feel like I’m 51 years old. I went for what I wanted. That’s how I feel. And if it came across I’m a fing predator, get the f out of here. You shouldn’t have even said that to me. It was an insult to me as a woman.”
Memphis Smith comes in and weighs in on the disagreement between Kimberly and Benjamin. She points out the hypocrisy of Ben calling Kim a predator, considering he was dating a woman that was 30 years younger than him.
