Ben Rathbun Says 90 Day Fiance Show Ruined His Relationship With Mahogany

Ben Rathbun, in an emotional Instagram posting, blamed the 90 Days Fiance: Prior to the 90 Days for Mahogany Roca’s refusal to be with him.

Ben Rathbun blames 90 Day Fiance Before the 90 Days as a cause of his broken relationship with Mahogany. Ben Rathbun, 52, thought he found love when he went to Mahogany Roca’s 22-year-old inbox. 

Mahogany, who never fell in love with Ben but dreamed about having a family with him, was still in love with the idea of having children. Ben was prompted to go to Peru by their shared faith and intimate conversations, even though Mahogany hadn’t shown her face. 

Mahogany ended their 90 Day Fiance relationship as expected. Ben revealed in the Tell-All that Mahogany and he got back together when he made a second visit to San Bartolo.

Ben knew that Mahogany had been a catfish, using filters to post on Facebook and Instagram. Ben sent her $1,000 as a loan and believed Mahogany when she told him she was too timid to video call. 

Mahogany then accused Ben of being “different”, and that he was hiding secrets from her about his past. She still refused to trust him, even though Ben ignored Mahogany’s red flags like her lying about age or her claiming that a rented flat was her home. 

Ben wanted to see if he could get along with Mahogany, so he went back and visited her without cameras. Mahogany seemed to be afraid of Ben, as he wanted the first meeting on 90 Day Fiance to be recorded.

Ben said in a long Instagram story to defend Mahogany that Mahogany had been “incredibly smart” not to accept him unconditionally into her life. Ben, a former pastor, confessed that Mahogany wanted to meet him and loved him. 

But she questioned his intentions when he came to her with a TV show. Ben said Mahogany did not want to be a star or get any attention via B90. Mahogany, who has a beautiful soul off-camera, wanted to meet Ben. 

He said, “I made it impossible by convincing Mahogany to appear on the show.” Was this all a mistake?” Ben finally had this to say: “It certainly damaged our relationships.”

Ben believes that the show also tested Mahogany’s bond and love. Ben wrote, “So the story goes on,” as he described how “a lot has happened off camera” and asked for fans to not judge before they’ve seen everything. 

Ben said that Mahogany was patient and kind, and she loved and supported him “even when the public continually belittled” her.

He also accepted that Mahogany didn’t care about Ben’s “so older” age or his “many embarrassing mistakes mistakes”. Ben wanted 90 Day Fiance viewers to know how strong, loyal, and brave Mahogany is.

Ben and Mahogany seem to be back together, despite the 90 Day Fidelity: Before the 90 Days Tell All Finale leaving things on a high note for them. 

Shaun Robinson’s question to Mahogany about whether they were boyfriend and girlfriend prompted her to say that she wanted him to prove himself.

Kim Menzies argued that Ben’s commitment was proven by his two trips to Peru. Ben defended Mahogany, saying their relationship was still young. After the Tell-All, Mahogany, and Ben were seen in public. This proves that Ben went to Peru a third time.
