A parenting schism causes friction for the pair in PEOPLE's exclusive sneak peek at Sunday's episode of the TLC series. It all starts when Kobe discovers that Emily is still breastfeeding her son after a year — but Kobe refuses to share Emily's body with the child.
Emily has been "breastfeeding for almost 17 months," according to Kobe in a candid interview. "I told you this, like, listen," he continues. I'm coming home, and you should start planning how you're going to stop him from breastfeeding."
Emily maintains her position, stating that she will not take away her child's breastfeeding "connection" simply because Kobe is moving in.
"This time, it shouldn't be like, 'It's just you and him,'" Kobe explains. "It's kind of like us."
Later, Kobe says that his dissatisfaction with Emily's breastfeeding is due to the fact that her child is already a year old. He claims that breastfeeding in his African culture ends between the ages of 8 and 10 months. Emily's father interjects, saying that "the longer the better" in America.
Later in a candid interview, Emily's parents voice their displeasure with Kobe's persistence: "I think Kobe was entirely wrong," the father adds. "I mean, it's understandable for Emily to want to do what she needs to do to pump the milk."
Her mother goes on to say that Kobe's strong stance in the case is "disappointing."

The topic shifts back to Emily and Kobe, and the latter isn't going away. "I'm sorry to say this, but we're discussing my son, okay?"
"Our son," Emily responds.
"She's going to be my wife and we make love, you know, and I have to suck her breasts 'cause I love breasts, to be honest," Kobe adds in a confessional. Alright? As a result, I can't share breasts with my son."
His last thoughts on the subject? "I don't want to come across as selfish, but that's the truth."
Emily met Kobe in a nightclub in China, and the couple became engaged quickly. Emily soon discovered she was pregnant. Emily welcomed their son, Koban, alone in the United States owing to Kobe's green card troubles, and COVID extended their separation by two years.
Kobe is eventually able to relocate to Kansas to be with Emily and their child on 90 Day Fiancé.
