90 Day Fiance - Deavan Clegg : "YES, Jihoon Knows Our Son Has Cancer , But he never reached out"
Last month, 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way alum Deavan Clegg revealed her son’s diagnosis.
After two years of apparent disinterest on the part of Taeyang's biological father, Deavan now has complete custody of him. She is now clarifying what Jihoon Lee knows about his estranged 3-year-old son's health battle.
Deavan Clegg and Jihoon Lee recorded a bogus final episode of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way more than two years ago. The incident was true. Her stated reasons for departing South Korea during the pandemic were not legitimate. Fans had many questions. Later that year, the terrifying truth would be revealed.
Deavan was granted full custody of now 3-year-old Taeyang by the court two years later. The verdict, which prioritized Taeyang's well-being, had several reasons. The fundamental cause, however, was Jihoon's lack of desire in being Taeyang's father. Deavan had just delivered this news when she finally received a diagnosis for Taeyang's recent illness. She had taken her preschool-aged son to the doctor and even the emergency department on several occasions. Medical personnel have tried to address basic symptoms each time.
Finally, she had a response. It couldn't have come at a better time. Taeyang is suffering from B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Without treatment, this type of cancer can kill in months, if not weeks.
Taeyang is currently undergoing life-saving (but painful) therapies such as chemotherapy. Deavan has set up a GoFundMe page to help Taeyang with his medical bills. (In fact, Taeyang's grandma, Elicia, started the GoFundMe for his care.)
However, due in part to how unfairly Deavan was portrayed in the show’s edit, people had questions. Some demanded to know if she has told Jihoon about Taeyang’s diagnosis or treatment. Perhaps, naively, they believed that no parent would turn a blind eye to their child having cancer.
"My ex is aware of the situation going on with Taeyang,” Last week, Deavan wrote. Her Instagram Story went on by saying : “And has been aware for a while.”Deavan shared again :“We told him how he can help, and he can video call and set a time".
"This is the first time he’s reached out in almost two years,” Deavan added. “Since telling him this, he has not reached out again”, she revealed. Jihoon “hasn’t asked to schedule a phone call, hasn’t asked about Taeyang.” “So, please leave us alone about it,” Deavan implored 90 Day Fiance fans and her social media followers.
While Taeyang’s prognosis is reportedly good, our thoughts will continue to be with this family. Taeyang deserves love and support.
